Solutions for an uneven spa pad

Bullfrog Spas are unique in that they have a sealed base which allows them to be placed on surfaces like concrete, pavers, constrained gravel, and decking. If your spa’s pad is slightly sloped it will not affect the performance of the spa or its structure, however, there should be no dips, sags, or unevenness in the pad. It must be flat!

Options for uneven concrete:

  1. Fill the dips or sags with sand or gravel
  2. Build a contained gravel box with with 2×4’s and pea gravel (example pictured below.) For a nicer finish, once the spa is in place, you can remove the 2×4’s and replace it with vinyl strips to contain the gravel. Click here for an example of vinyl strips
  3. Concrete leveling services
  4. Pour new concrete

DO NOT USE SHIMS TO LEVEL YOUR SPA. This will cause stress to the spa shell and can crack the spa.
