If your spa will not turn on shortly after you have drained and refilled your spa, there is likely air in your pump(s). The methods below can be used to purge the air out of your pump.
- Remove the filters from your spa and let the spa sit for 30 minutes. Sometimes removing the filters will allow more water to flow to the pumps and help the air work itself out.
- Alternate between high and low speed on the pump at least 6-7 times to purge the system.
If the first two methods don’t work, a more hands-on solution may be required. For the method below, the front panel door below the topside control will need to be removed to access the pump(s).
- Locate the braided clear tube on top of the pump. Sometimes this tube gets pinched not allowing air to escape. Take some pliers to slide the clamp away from the pump and then pull the tube off the pump until water starts to come out then reinstall the tube and clamp back on the pump.
If you’re not having luck bleeding the air out of the pump or would rather have a Bullfrog Spa technician do it, text or call us at (801) 737-4515.
Please note: make sure these is enough water in the spa before attempting to bleed an airlocked pump.
